To apply for the Professional Program, students must complete the following steps:
If you are not admitted to the program on your first attempt, you may retake any or all of the prerequisite courses one time. You may apply to the program as often as you want, but realize that you will run out of courses to take before you will run out of opportunities to apply, so plan accordingly. You should retake a course immediately. GPA is calculated based on your first science class (Physics 123 or Physics 220), your first math class (Math 112 or higher), ME EN 172, and CE EN 103. You must also pass ME EN 191 to apply. Classes worth more credits weigh more when calculating the GPA. If you take 2 sciences or 2 maths in the same semester, both grades will be averaged when calculating the GPA.
For example, if you receive A's in all of the courses but Physics 123 is a C or lower, your GPA will not be high enough to get into the program. You should retake the physics course and work for a better grade, and then reapply. When you reapply, we will not average the two grades together. We will take the highest grade of the two attempts.
Here is information based on the past few years of applications.
