Exploring product development on a Singapore study abroad
Each May for the past 10 years, Brigham Young University mechanical engineering students have been traveling to Singapore for a product design and development study abroad experience. In 2023, 50 students from three universities, including sixteen from BYU, took projects like an automated tourniquet and a sensor system for blind individuals from ideation to completion in just two weeks.

Behind the Scenes of the Capstone Project
Despite all the learning and advancement that happens in the classroom, it’s hard to replicate real world experiences and problems on the average homework assignment. The Capstone experience sits between junior year and graduation for most engineering students to close that gap between the classroom and industry.

Origami in the Operating Room: BYU Biomedical Research Featured on WebMD
Origami might not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about life-saving innovations in biomedical engineering, but its principles have been making waves in the field. The biomedical engineering labs here at Brigham Young University have made valuable contributions to products using the practice of origami, and were featured in an article recently published on WebMD.
