Get Involved
Get involved by mentoring students, providing hands-on experience through Capstone projects and internships, and hiring our graduates.
PROVIDE INTERNSHIPS
Internships (paid and non-paid) provide valuable practical experience to both undergraduate and graduate students. Your internship openings will be promoted to students on our internships web page and through our weekly emails to students. Send internship information to MEDept-Sec@byu.edu. Internship information can also be posted on the BYU Handshake.
HIRE BYU ME STUDENTS
Recruit ME students direct through our jobs web page and weekly emails to students. Submit job opening information to MEDept-Sec@byu.edu.
BYU Handshake is the university-wide service to connect employers with qualified students. Register with BYU Handshake to connect with the right students for your internship or full-time openings here.
LET CAPSTONE SOLVE YOUR ENGINEERING PROBLEM
Find solutions to a mid-to-back-burner engineering project for your company by sponsoring a Capstone project. A team of ME senior students (other disciplines involved as needed) will work closely with you and their faculty mentors to provide a solution and build a working prototype to meet your needs. The projects should include approximately 800 engineering hours and fit within the 8 month course period (September through April). Learn how you can sponsor a Capstone project here.
ALUMNI MENTORING PARTNERSHIP
Helping students explore professional opportunities in Mechanical Engineering helps to fulfill BYU's mission to "Go Forth and Serve." The BYU Career Services Alumni Mentoring Program (AMP) pairs alumni mentors with BYU students. Working with a BYU student can be a rewarding experience for both the student and the mentor. To become a mentor for a BYU student, visit the BYU Alumni Career Services AMP web page.
